Volunteering

Drivers

Meals are delivered daily by our team of dedicated volunteers.  Volunteer drivers pick up the meals at 11:00 am and then deliver these meals to our clients between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm.  After the meals have been delivered, the volunteer driver then returns to the pick-up location to drop off the delivery bags and returned containers.  Volunteers are needed to deliver these meals every weekday, which works out to about a two-hour commitment each day.  Whether you can commit to doing full-time deliveries, once per week deliveries, or if you would simply like to help out occasionally, we would love to hear from you.

Food & Friends Social Luncheon

Langley Meals on Wheels Services Society is always looking for volunteers to help out at the Food & Friends luncheons. Check out the “Other Services We Provide” page to learn more about these luncheons. We’re always looking for volunteers to help set up, or to help out during the event. This is a good option if you’d like to help out once or twice whenever you’re available. We’d love to hear from you.

Boutique Finds

We have a thrift store located directly next door to our office. We are always looking for volunteers to help run the day-to-day operations of this Boutique. You can volunteer in a fun environment while gaining valuable retail experience. Please contact us if you’re interested in volunteering in a fun, engaging environment

Donating

We need your support now more than ever as we work to assist a growing number of nutritionally at-risk members of our community. These donations also go towards supporting our subsidy program.

Why Is Our Subsidy Program Necessary?

“When you are getting to my age and trying to exist on a lousy pension, Meals on Wheels is a God send.  If it wasn’t for your subsidised Meals Program I wouldn’t be eating properly and most likely be back in the hospital.” a Veteran.

“When I got home from surgery I was lost with very little mobility. I reached out to you and not only did you help get things started for me quickly, but you subsidised my meals… as a single mum off work, you saved me!” client.

How Does My Support Help?

$20 provides 6 meals, $50 provides 15 meals, $75 provides 23 meals, and $100 provides ONE MONTH of meals to those in need.

Your donations enable Langley Meals on Wheels Services Society to provide affordable and nutritious meals to Langley residents.  We have a charitable status with the Canada Revenue Agency which allows us to issue a tax-deductible receipt to all donors.  All donations are used to support the Langley Meals on Wheels Services Society meal programs.
